Focus for Day 4: A church unleashed places God above all else
Joshua 24:15: “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, […..] But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
As Christians, we have to make a choice. We either decide that we are going to serve other gods (materialism, carnality) or the true and living God. This is a decision every one of us has to make today and affirm every other day on the simple basis of faith in God. We are either on God’s side or the other side. There are no in-betweens. What choice are you making? What is the number one priority in our lives? Is the priority Christ? Or is it something else? Christ demands first place, and a people unleashed place him first.
James 1:6,8: “For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. […] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
As a people unleashed, our choice to serve God needs to be evident for all to see. We cannot waver in our decision to serve Him. Moses could have been a Pharoah in Egypt but he made a choice. Young people all over the world are marching for any cause imaginable (e.g., climate change, gender fluidity,). As transformers, we have an obligation to show the world where we stand on the issues of God.
Prayer points
- “As for me and my house we shall serve the Lord.” Let us make this declaration over ourselves and our families all through the day.
- Let us pray that we will be totally committed to the worship of God, and not waver in our relationship with him (James 1:6-8)
- In a world where truth is becoming a subjective concept, let us pray for the confidence to stand for what is Godly and true only according to scripture (Ephesians 6:13).
