Characteristics of the Church Unleashed, Day 1 – Fasting & Prayer

Focus of Day 1: Transformation of our minds and a deeper desire for Holiness in our in our walk with God.

Scripture 1
Romans 12:1-2: And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Scripture 2
2 Corinthians 7:1-3: Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Prayers:

1. May we surrender our lives unto Him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him
2. May our minds be transformed into a Christ-like mind

Psalm 42: 1-2

As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God.
I thirst for God, the living God.

Prayer topics:

1. Father, change our hearts.
2. Help us develop a genuine hunger and thirst for your presence.
3. Help us develop a deeper desire for righteousness, holiness, and a profound hatred for sin.
4. Breathe the spirit of holiness over your church.
5. Cause a shift in minds and attitudes.
6. Help us stop pretending.
7. Help us stop treating you casually.
8. May we come to your presence with reverence and with an expectation to encounter you at a deeper level.
9. Father cause your church to be transformed into your image. Help us to be ready to be unleashed into the world for your glory.
